R+P Post 4: Representation of social groups in our opening sequence
The social group
we are representing in our opening sequence are that of middle ages, young
adults and late teenager of all ethnicities. This representation is connoted by
our choice of characters. Our main actor will be an old teenager/ young adult
and other actors will be of a young adult age.
We decided to confine to the stereotype of
the 'rebellious' teenager as our main actor is a hacker. However
his rebellious nature is not shown in a negative light; he is
extremely intelligent and is trying to go against a corrupt organisation for
the 'greater good'.
Robot inspired our main character.
The 'hit-men'; several young adults working
for the corrupt organisation will contrast their stereotype. They will be very inexperienced;
easily brain washed and will fail to achieve their mission. This connotes this
age group in a negative light but also positive as they are still thriving to
achieve.
